Our friend Davide Fasalo aka Nulli Versi has just giving us the heads up on this final edit of his "Living Decay" film which documents Pøbel and Dolks "Ghetto Spedalsk" project in Lofoton. Beautiful filming that captures the area perfectly.

NEW EINE, HACKNEY ROAD

Brand new from Eine on Hackney Road, London, Ben is currently one of the most talked about street artists on the planet due to the British Prime Minister David Cameron giving an Eine canvas to Barack Obama during his first state visit. I guess its old news now, but the piece above is a direct response to the vast amount of world media coverage of the affair. Shock Horror, Graffiti Art hangs in the White House !
Anyway, props to Ben Eine, some well deserved publicity. Will have to keep an eye on the works dotted around Stavanger and make sure they don't now end up on ebay

Nuart friend and renowned Norwegian art collector Rolf Hoff is currently showing off his fabulous collection of Dolk and Pøbel works at his wife Venke's amazing new contemporary art space in Lofoten in the north of Norway, home to some of the worlds most awe inspiring landscapes.
Some of you may recognise it from Dolk & Pøbel's "Ghetto Spedalsk" project.
The Kaviarfactory is set to formally open sometime in 2012, really looking forward to seeing how this project progresses.

VIVA LA REVOLUCION

Check out the line up..20 artists, 8 countries...Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego presents Viva La Revolución, opening 18th July.
From the website
For the first time in history, the majority of the world’s population lives in urban communities. The urban setting and its corresponding lifestyle are major sources of inspiration in contemporary culture. This is an historic revolution in visual culture, in which the codes and icons of the everyday—found on the streets in graffiti, signage, waste, tattoos, advertising, and graphic design—have been appropriated and used as an integral part of contemporary art-making. The urban landscape inspires and serves as both a platform for innovation and a vehicle for expression for many artists. The city itself, its buildings, vehicles, people, and advertisements, are not only the surface where the art is applied. The city fuels the practice.
A multifaceted exhibition that explores the dialogue between artists and the urban landscape, Viva la Revolución: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape features works both in the Museum’s galleries as well as at public sites throughout downtown San Diego.
The exhibition includes a diverse range of 20 artists from 8 countries that are linked together by how their work addresses urban issues -- Akay (Sweden), Banksy (U.K.), Blu (Italy), Mark Bradford (U.S.), William Cordova (U.S.), Date Farmers (U.S.), Stephan Doitschinoff [CALMA] (Brazil), Dr. Lakra (Mexico), Dzine (U.S.), David Ellis (U.S.), FAILE (U.S.), Shepard Fairey (U.S.), Invader (France), JR (France), Barry McGee (U.S.), Ryan McGinness (U.S.), Moris (Mexico), Os Gemeos (Brazil), Swoon (U.S.), and Vhils (Portugal).
Viva la Revolución: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape is curated by guest curator Pedro Alonzo and MCASD Associate Curator Lucía Sanromán.

DOTMASTERS GONE SOFT

So, seems our man in London's gone soft on us, either that or he needed to balance the insanity of his Glasto project with something a little more..normal ?.. anyway, having bagged a few cushions from Upperplayground in the past, Baglione, Choe, Flores etc.. I can see the sense in this.
From the Dotmaster himself
The height of blandalist chic these hand silk screened hand sewn cushions are beautifully crafted. Printed on different high quality materials, silk, cotton twill, cotton velvet in a range of colours. Each cushion is detailed with a thick cord and hidden zip, on the reverse is printed the dotmasters crest and filled with pure duck down cushion blank.
All of the cushions are unique and hand pulled by the artist and professionally tailored. There are 34 in this initial edition and will not be repeated. Plans for a second edition are already underway, these will be radically different in image and cushion design.
The designs come from recent Dotmasters works and play with the concepts of graffiti, repeat patterns and contemporary slogans, more work and news from the dotmasters can be found on his blog and previous works can be found here
There are three sizes, 50 x 50 cm , 40 x 40 cm and 36 x 36 cm. They are washable, although with some fabrics and finishes dry cleaning is recommended. Prices range from £50 to £65 dependant on size and material.
So go on vandalise your sofa with some original artwork from The Dotmasters

NEW FROM ALEXANDROS VASMOULAKIS
A small taste of what Stavanger can expect this coming September. Great to see Alexandros picking up support from Wooster and beyond.
"Here is our latest wall. This time my friend Paris Koutsikos and I had the pleasure to collaborate with the 73 years old Greek painter Andonis Kyriakoulis. Andonis had never done a mural before and at this age it would be a bit risky to climb on the crane and paint directly on the wall. So the wheatpaste was a sort of comfortable solution. The piece writes (actually demands) "Mάσα, Ξάπλα, Τέμπελιά" which can be somehow translated as "Eat, Sleep and Shit"... Alexandros Vasmoulakis
